Vancouver Weekend with Kids

In Vancouver, Washington, you'll discover a small city with a rich history, great river front setting and plenty of indoor and outdoor recreation. For my family, that's always been a recipe for a weekend of fun with some learning mixed in. Fort Vancouver, originally a Hudson Bay Company outpost, is the city's historic centerpiece and is a must see for a peek 200 years into the past. Fast forward to the present, and there's plenty of modern day activities the whole family will enjoy as well.

If the kids need to burn off a little steam, it's located right next door to Esther Short Park with its expansive lawns and children's play area.

Who doesn't love wood-fired pizza? The pies served up at the Rock are among the best you'll find. Toppings will please everyone from traditionalists to the more experimental members of your family, and the thin crust has just the right texture and crunch. The Rock's atmosphere is rock and roll inspired, hence the name. It's a fun spot the kids will love - decidedly more sophisticated than the place with the mouse, and the pizza is consistent and oh so squisito!
The Old Spaghetti Factory is known for good prices and a kid-friendly menu. Even the pickiest kids have a favorite at OSF. This one is conveniently located
