One Day in Everett, Washington

North of the destination city of Seattle is Everett, home to the world's largest airplane manufacturer. Most people know about Boeing, but they don't realize there are plenty of other things to do in Everett. Enough, certainly, to fill one very busy day.

This big, modern hotel is in a great location at the heart of downtown Everett. Kids will love the pool, parents will love the location. The full breakfast buffet is one of the better ones I've had.
Consistently creative comfort food from one of the friendliest restaurants in Everett. Soups are their specialty, but everything on the menu is good. And surprisingly inexpensive. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, so get down there early.

An absolute must-do if you're in the Everett area. The tour starts in the Future of Flight building, where kids get to design their own planes, sit in a real cockpit, view airplanes being built, and tour the largest building in the world. Adults get to do some of those things too. It's fascinating for all ages. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for kids 15 and under. More

Jetty Island is such a relaxing place. The warm, shallow waters of the Puget Sound are your view as you stretch out on the broad expanse of sand. You reach the island via a short, 5-minute boat ride from the Everett Marina. Bring beach chairs, a cooler, and plenty of sun screen!
