Anacortes is a popular stop for travelers on their way to (and fro) the San Juan Islands. It is also frequented by boaters. The town sits on Fidalgo Island in Puget Sound and gets about half as much rain as Seattle. The town, and its surrounding area, is a favorite with rock climbers and cyclists. It's quaint but active.
