Our $500 @Wimdu Winner – @HeckticTravels – Thanks for supporting Passports with Purpose

By: Lola Akinmade

PwPWhen Passports with Purpose’s (PwP) goal of $100,000 was revealed this year, I caught my breath.

Our collective efforts pulled in over $80,000 smashing last year’s goal and this year, even though tiny bubbles of doubt tried to shift my focus as we closed in on that deadline, a part of me knew we’d make this goal.

Because of amazing bloggers like our winners below, our collective networks, and others who donated and supported this industry-wide initiative.

“Through donations in $10 increments and the participation of more than 200 travel bloggers around the world, we surpassed our fundraising goal for the fourth year in a row, reaching $110,000 to help Water.org build wells in Haiti.

We hope the phrase “$10 increments” catches your eye, because as always we’re awed by the power of community to do great things.

It’s the collective network of the travel-blogosphere that makes this fundraiser more than succeed year after year. Without the hard work and readership of all of these wonderful blogs, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do”….Passports with Purpose

With over 200 travel bloggers participating and roughly $110,000 donated, Passports with Purpose will be building wells in Haiti in collaboration with Water.org.

Congratulations – HeckticTravels

Special congrats to Dalene & Pete Heck of HeckticTravels for winning our $500 prize donated by Wimdu!

Special Thanks – Wimdu

I wanted to sincerely thank Wimdu for generously donating the $500 voucher to such a worthy cause, and I hope there’ll be more opportunities in the future to collaborate with Wimdu in meaningful ways.

Hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season.
