Lyon, France [photos]
Althouh Lyon is known as the gastronomical capital of France, it has a lot more to offer than just food. Even though the food alone is worth the trip (I treated myself to all the local delicacies when I was there over Christmas), Lyon is a city filled with natural beauty, historical sites, and that wonderful je ne sais quoi that makes most French cities irresistible.

There are two rivers that run through Lyon, and both are perfect for catching a cruise, going for a drink at one of the many boat bars, and watching the sunset.

You can find the ferris wheel in Lyon’s main square: Place Bellecour. It’s a great place for photos, and you can get a good view of the Notre-Dame-de-Fourviere.

Lyon is filled with winding streets and stone staircases that take you to the some of the city’s best sights.
