Drew painted this baby on my belly, seeing as this might be our last weekly “baby bump” photo (if she comes this week as the doctor predicted) and it kind of freaked Cole out. “BABY!” he yelled at me when I came into the room. But he curled up next to me and together we named her parts: her nose, mouth, eyes, head, belly, and feet. I keep telling him that she’s coming soon, and he seems to get it. He remembers her name when I ask, and he’s tentatively agreed to share his toys with her.

“Get out, out!” he said to the baby, then looking at me, “Open! Open!”
