Offbeat Sf attractions

I feel like the whole character of San Francisco is very offbeat, and I would feel like I'm not really seeing the city if I just stick to the typical landmarks and sightseeing spots. Sure, I'll go see Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, and the other major sites, but I'd really like to see some of SF's strange and unusual sites. What sort of hidden gems does it have in store?
