A visit to Antelope Valley Indian Museum State Historic Park will provide you with information on the history of American Indian groups of the region. The museum holds a collection of rare and unique cultural artefacts. You can then go out on a self-guided trails and explore the park and learn about the desert, and its resources that the American Indians experienced for centuries.
While in Lancaster, you and your family can explore traces of history in Antelope Valley African American Museum. This museum exhibits the contribution of notable African Americans. It is open from Wednesdays to Saturdays.
The Western Hotel Museum is the oldest surviving structure in Lancaster. If your family is interested in the mining and Native American history of the area, it's worth visiting this museum.
The Lancaster Museum of Art and History combines permanent exhibits that are connected to the history of the area with avant-garde exhibits that focus on the works of local artists.
