San Antonio may be best known for the Alamo, but there are lots of other fun places kids will enjoy in this Texas city. Keep reading to see what my kids' favorites were.

Opened in fall of 2009, it's a newer hotel that families will enjoy.
Wandering along the river and crossing over and back on the bridges was a fun way to spend a winter afternoon. Our only mistake--not getting boat-ride reservations early in the day.
(When they call it the splash zone, they mean you'll get really wet.) Holiday decorations make a December visit as much fun as one in the summer.
Part animal kingdom, part amusement park, kids will love most everything about Sea World, from the big roller coasters to the Shamu show. (When they call it the splash zone, they mean you'll get really wet.) Holiday decorations make a December visit as much fun as one in the summer.
My children enjoyed seeing these old buildings, and how alike yet how different they were. A tour of the missions is a unique step back in time to the early days of San Antonio.
This museum, not far from downtown, showcases the many and varied cultures that call Texas home. Kids will like watching the film that is shown hourly, and trying their hand at being a cowboy.
For families, it's a good bet with family suites and free breakfast.
The hands-on tree house area is a hit with kids. From music to science to waterworks, my kids had fun here. A zoo and park are adjacent to the museum, so a whole day can be spent in this area north of downtown San Antonio.
I could hardly pull my boys away from the ball-tossing-catching area, and my youngest daughter thought the H-E-B grocery area was just like a real store. Kids will have fun at this museum/playland just a few blocks from the Alamo and Riverwalk.
