THINGS TO DO

  1. Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel
  2. Museo de San Miguel de Allende
"Two and a half years ago nine of us rented a house close to the plaza. We purposely went for the month of September in order to observe all the celebrations that occur that month. This meant that the summer rains were not yet over. One rainy day we decided to take advantage of a special offer to attend a guided tour and luncheon in the Allende home and Museo. Our guide was a beautiful Mexican woman with a PHD from the Univ of London. Her explanation of the interior and the furnishings and the way they lived in Allende's time was extremely interesting and entertaining. After touring the rooms we gathered for a lunch of the typical dishes they served in those days. The number of participants was limited (about 25)making it intimate and cozy. I had visited the museo several times in the past. None of the signs or explanations were in English. It just seemed like the typical colonial building of marble and tile. I have seen in the internet that they repeat this opportunity every few weeks. If you possibly have the chance to attend one it is one of the best things to do in SMA. Otherwise it is just another museo." - a Tripadvisor user
  3. 3 SENORES
"3Senoras was recommended to me by the owner of the hotel where we stayed--Casa Schuck. I am an experienced rider and this was a perfect ride because we did quite a bit of fast riding (where terrain permitted), because rides are tailored to the skill levels of the riders. We rode through the oldest part of San Miguel, out into the desert in the midst of huge cacti, on an old hacienda, etc. Mauricio, the owner, speaks excellent English and is very informative about what you are seeing on the ride. He rescues abused horses, so you know he's a good person, and the horses guests ride are really well trained." - a Tripadvisor user
