For one thing, Denton has gone to great lengths to protect and restore the celebrated Victorian-Anne architectural style that many of its grand homes and buildings display. Walking the charming streets of Denton's downtown historical district is a must, and there are some good restaurant options there as well. Downtown should be easy to find - smack in its center is the famous Denton County Courthouse, which is extremely grand and gothic in style and towers far above any other structure in the charming downtown area. Two universities are located in Denton as well, the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University, the former being the largest university in North Texas and a great contribution to Denton's college-town vibe. Right outside of Denton's city limits are two small hamlets, Justin and Ponder. They hold the sort of authentic, off-the-beaten-track restaurants and ranches that might be worth serious consideration of your time.
