While it's rarely a travel destination in and of itself, it serves a popular purpose for visitors to the Dallas area: individual servings of alcohol are a-okay at restaurants and other establishments. As most of north Dallas and its surrounding suburbs are dry, this gives Addison a leg up when it comes to restaurants, bars and nightlife. For instance, the well-known Improv Comedy Club is located here, and might be worth your while for a visit as it regularly attracts big-name comedians. If you find yourself in Addison during daylight hours, don't despair. There are family-pleasing attractions as well, like a local ice rink and bowling/billiards hall. For those interested in aviation history, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum offers 50,000 square feet for viewing a vast collection of airplanes and assorted memorabilia.
