Their home sat on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, and though it has since been lost to a fire, the lake continues to draw people for its history and inspiration. It certainly wouldn't be a waste of time to stop by, as Hendersonville sits on the northern shore and offers a peaceful refuge from the big city twang of Nashville. The Historic Rock Castle is situated here; it was first constructed in 1790 and remains one of the oldest structures in the Nashville area. Hendersonville's other claim to fame is rather unusual but also has roots in country music history. Trinity City USA, which began as the home of country music star Conway Twitty, was purchased by the Trinity Broadcasting Network and now serves as an all-purpose faith-based television production studio. Visitors are welcome to observe the production process, sit in on a sermon, or tour the grounds.
