One Day in North Charleston

North Charleston doesn't have its own guidebooks or any of the notoriety that her downtown sister gets. The higher crime rate gives the city a bad rap, but there's lots to see in North Charleston. You can stay near the airport for a fraction of the price of the downtown hotels and enjoy some of the best restaurants in the area. Soak up the history as you visit one of the oldest submarines in the country, dine at the eateries on the old Navy base and do some bargain hunting at the outlet malls.

You can see the submarine in a tank of water, as well as climb inside a replica to see the cramped quarters the crews dealt with.
