The historical society is really a great place to visit if you're into history. They're sort of like their own mini-museum, and they're supremely helpful if you have questions. You could spend a day there just chatting about the town's history, and the generations of people who've lived there. It's a lot more interactive than a museum, and a lot more fun, imo. More

San Crispino takes their gelato very seriously, and raises the crafting of gelato to a higher art form then I had ever imagined possible. I had a ginger & cinnamon gelato that was so delicious and delicate, and a lemon that was wonderfully tangy, tart, and robust. You shouldn't have a hard time finding a nice spa in San Diego. Does location matter? Try Bodyworks Day Spa in Coronado. Prices are reasonable, and the friendly staff offers you cider and chocolate after your massage session. Coronado's also home to the spa at the Hotel del Mar, but it's definitely not the place that you want to if you're not trying to spend a lot. It's really luxurious if you can afford it though. More
