The Sunriver Resort lodge affords lovely accommodations, but when visiting with a family in tow, having your very own full house rental cant be beat. The Sunriver community is beautifully planned with biking and hiking trails, community parks, and wooded areas throughout, and with hundreds of vacation rentals, youre sure to find something in your price range and size. The access to a hot tub (in most rentals) and full kitchen cant be beat! (Expect to pay nightly or weekly.)

Plan on at least one upscale dining experience while at Sunriver Resort, because this location offers both gourmet food and a relaxed family-oriented atmosphere. Kids choose from a decent childrens menu, and drinks come in collectible Sunriver Club cups. If anyone gets restless, the lobby of the Sunriver Resort is a great place to watch the flames in the massive fireplace, pick out a board game, or play an impromptu game of I-Spy. (During the holiday season, ask for a table near a window to watch the evening Christmas lights.) Prices range from approx. $6-$20 per plate. The wine list is extensive!

Sunriver Nature Center
If youre visiting Sunriver in the summer months (or any time the snow isnt flying), the nature center is a great place to hike, learn about birds of prey and other indigenous creatures, and the areas flora and fauna. The place is designed with kids in mind; I guarantee they wont be bored!

Skiing on Mt Bachelor
Why would you not?! Mt. Bachelor is one of the premiere ski resorts in the Northwest, and is less than 30 minutes from Sunriver. Kids programs and an excellent on-mountain daycare are available. Be sure to ask about ski and stay packages for reduced rates on tickets, or consider buying multi-day passes.
