Let's face it, Portland is an outdoorsy kinda town. It's hiking boots and jumbo ponchos as far as the eye can see but sometimes (especially during those monsoon months) it can do a world of good to roll down your gortex knee-highs and luxuriate in some of the finest self-care practices in the Pacific Northwest.

Afternoon tea at the Heathman truly is a pinkies up affair. Finger foods, high tea, live jazz (Wed-Sat), marble fireplace, chandelier, it's the perfect occasion for that fancy hat you never wear or that corsage you secretly want to buy for yourself. Kids welcome!
Sure they're the ones who do The Nutcracker but they also do some contemporary productions (Sleeping Beauty) and they have (abbreviated) performances just for kids. Tickets range from pricey to cheap with student & military tickets for $10.
Let's not call it a movie theater, it's the cinema. Food, cocktails and comfy seats for local film fests to obscure foreign flicks. The best part is that you can rent a theater for a private party! Throw your own red carpet event and don't forget to hire the paparazzi.
