Ashland, Oregon Splurge!

Ashland, Oregon is one of our family's favorite towns, and it has even more to offer for couples wanting to splurge! With fine cuisine, award-winning theater, and upscale shopping, Ashland is the perfect place to spend your weekend away from the kids.

Formerly the Mark Antony, the Ashland Springs Hotel has been beautifully restored to its original glory. Though kids are welcome, you'll see this hotel, located in the heart of Ashland, caters to the adult set, with luxury appointments and a fine dining restaurant located just downstairs.
You can't visit Ashland without taking in the Shakespearean theater. Buy tickets in advance at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival website (osfashland.org) and enjoy your night of theater either at the outdoor stage or one of the indoor venues. Ticket prices start at approx. $60, with discounts in the off-season.

Pamper yourself for a few hours at the Blue Giraffe, locals' favorite day spa. Appointments can be made by your hotel, or just stop by and see what they have available. The ambiance is lovely, and you'll leave feeling calmer than you have since having kids!

For breakfast, head uptown to this bakery and cafe, known locally for their pastries and coffee. If you're free at lunch instead, pick from their selection of homemade soups and salads. $$

If time permits, the Cabaret Theater is the perfect way to end your Ashland getaway. Their offers are always fun and lighthearted, good for a laugh. The best part: you watch while dinner and dessert are served! The mud pie is to die for! $$$
Liquid Assets (located by the Plaza near Lithia Park) makes for a wonderful end to a full day. Their starters are creative, their desserts delicious, but what you come for is the wine selection. The staff knows their stuff, and will point you toward the perfect vino!
