The oldest continuously operating theater in New York State, the Bardavon opened in 1869 as an opera house. Its neoclassic design has been preserved as a National Register Historic Place. The seasonal performance schedule, which runs from Fall through Spring, includes live music, dance, comedy, and children's programming. On Friday nights, classic movies are shown, preceded by live music on the 1928 Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ.
