If you decide to visit New Paltz in the summer, take your family to the Ulster County Fair. Now a tradition amongst Hudson Valley dwellers, the Ulster County Fair is held every year in August, bringing entertainment from all walks of life: animals, rides, concerts, and arts and crafts. The fair is located on the grounds hosted by the agriculture society so children also have access to meeting their favorite farm animals, too. Admission gets you free parking, free entertainment, and free rides. We recommend showing up in the early afternoon to avoid large crowds.
