North Conway, NH With Kids

I used to visit North Conway as a child, and now I take my own kids there every year. There's so much to do for children, and it's just a few hour drive from Boston. Between the wonderful casual restaurants, tax-free shopping, and kids' attractions, it's a great place for families.

Muddy Moose Restaurant and Pub
The Muddy Moose Restaurant is a fun, casual restaurant that my family really loves. The food is great - I usually get a mountain burger - and the atmosphere is wonderful also. It's in a good location with lots of parking.

Conway Scenic Railroad
If your kids like trains as much as my son does, this is a must-do. Not only does it serve as home base for a variety of trains (which you can purchase tickets for), it's also got a wide, open space. There's a fabulous playground and spray park right next door.
My kids absolutely love Story Land for its fun, age-appropriate rides and shows.

Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park at the Red Jacket Mo...
If the weather isn't great, check out the Kahuna Laguna indoor water park, located in the Red Jacket resort right in North Conway. There's a few exceptions, but for the most park, Kahuna Laguna is only available to guests of the resort.

Story Land
If you are traveling to North Conway in the summer with your children, you can't skip Story Land. My kids absolutely love Story Land for its fun, age-appropriate rides and shows. If you visit during the last few hours of the day, you'll get a ticket for the next day for free!

Cranmore Sports Center
Cranmore Mountain is located right in the center of North Conway, and there are loads to do year round, including skiing, tubing, and a new adventure park opening in the summer of 2011. There's also a family fitness center with activities for the whole family.
