Framingham, MA With Kids

Framingham, the largest city in the Metrowest region of Massachusetts, offers lots for families to do. From great ethnic restaurants to wonderful restaurants, there's so much to enjoy. In addition, you can take a quick commuter rail train right into Boston, since Framingham is less than 20 miles west of Boston.

Framingham is home to main chain hotels, but the Sheraton Framingham is one of the most known due to it's prominent location on the Mass Turnpike and it's castle-like exterior. It's been recently renovated, and also has a conference center and a fitness center.
This is my kids' favorite restaurant - in fact, my daughter chose this place for her sixth birthday celebration. Acapulcos is a local chain restaurant offering authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. The food and atmosphere are wonderful.
The museum offers kid-friendly programming, including school vacation workshops, drop into art programs, and art classes.

Garden in the Woods at the New England Wild Flower Society is open from April 15th through October 31st. However, they also offer kids' programming, like full moon hikes, through the winter.
My kids love visiting our local farmers' markets, and I think it's a great way to teach them about agriculture and local foods. The Framingham market is open on Thursday afternoons from the spring to the fall, and is closed to in the winter months.
