One Day in Wells, Maine

A day on a great New England coastline. Make it part of a larger Maine vacation or just come up for a day or two from Boston. You'll love the southern tip of Maine.

Cheap (under $100 most of the year, just over in summer), beautiful grounds, close to the ocean, pool, view and more. Kind of like going to summer camp. In the heart of Wells. Open spring through fall.
Bring the family and spend half a day at this combinations amusement park/zoo withing spitting distance of the beach. A combo zoo and ride pass is less than $20.
The rugged coastline of Cape Neddick has some of the best scenery in the world. Take a slow drive on this coast road just north of York. Stop at the viewpoint to see the world's most photographed lighthouse...the Nubble Light...perched on an island just offshore. Count the lobster traps between you and the island. Free.
So ugly it's cute. Spend a day on the bright red Ugly Anne in nearby Perkins Cove, fishing for dinner. Half day rates start at $45, full days $75.
Finish up your day with some great Maine lobster at Barnacle Billy's, next to the Ugly Anne. Relax with a glass of wine while watching the calm waters of pretty little Perkins Cove. $20 to $40 per person.
In the heart of Wells.
