Portland Maine Splurge!

What follows is what I would consider to be my fantasy vacation while visiting Portland, Maine - if money were no object. I hope that I someday get to spoil myself, and I hope that someday you can, too!

Stunning is the best word that describes the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. There are 57 rooms, guest suites, and private cottages, all arranged on an enormous seaside property. Dining at the Sea Glass restaurant is an unparalleled experience. A full menu of spa services is available. AND the Inn by the Sea is pet friendly!
The Five Fifty-Five Restaurant is the epitome of fine dining. Using primarily local ingredients, the menu varies with the season and is always offered with excellent wine recommendations. Dress is classy casual, reservations are recommended.
Enjoy the theatrical performances of the Portland Stage Company, Portland's oldest fully professional, non-profit theater.
Book the Bagheera or the Wendameen on a two-hour, overnight, or private charter for the ultimate sailing adventure in Maine! Or book the "Sails and Tails" adventure and enjoy a genuine Maine lobster bake on Cow Island. Bring your camera!
Freeport is a brief fifteen minute drive from Portland. Home of LL Bean, Freeport sports over 170 premium outlet stores (Brooks Brothers, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Coach to name a few), a myriad of boutique stores, many bed and breakfasts, several historic inns, and more restaurants than you could eat at in a week.
The Point Sebago Resort offers the best golfing that Maine has to provide. After your 18-holes, relax with a beer next to a roaring bonfire, on the shores of Sebago Lake.
