OUR TAKE ON FREEPORT

In Freeport, Maine, you’re in for a unique treat. Travel guides say that shopping L.L. Bean department store is more of an occasion, not just a shopping trip!  It’s almost an amusement park for everything related to rugged outdoor life. Plan on spending a lot of money and time at this adventure-filled location, and while you’re there take in the other 170 outlet shops.

If you want to be close to everything in Freeport, check out the Port Clipper Inn Bed and Breakfast. It has a heated in-ground pool that’s open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, a hot springs spa, gourmet breakfast, and lobster bakes for special occasions. 

As you’re planning your next family vacations, there are lots of great things to do, and one of them is unique to Freeport. Glacial desert dunes are appearing in great abundance, right in the heart of Freeport. What used to be farmland has been gradually being transformed back to its original state, revealing what has been below the surface all the time? Desert of Maine is open from May through October.
