If you’re going to Kansas City, Kansas, you’ll find lots of things to do. The Kansas Speedway features a 1.5-mile racetrack, with the NASCAR Sprint Cup, NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Indy Racing League. The track also has driving schools, custom car shows and other events.

Cross the Missouri River to visit Missouri’s Kansas City.  The National World War One Museum at Liberty Memorial features artifacts from the water, including a simulated WWI trench. The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art includes an outstanding Asian art collection, as well as the nation’s larges collection of sculpture by Henry Moore. The 200-acre Kansas City Zoo features the Great Ape house, the Topical Habitat Building and other exhibits. The Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City displays an extensive collection of antique toys, dolls and trains.

A kid friendly destination is Wonderscope Children's Museum offers hands-on activities for children and their families to explore the arts, humanities and sciences.

Sharing space are the American Jazz Museum, featuring interactive exhibits about the legends of jazz, and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum with memorabilia from the days before Jackie Robinson was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers.  Speaking of baseball, visit the Harry S Truman Sports Complex where the Kansas City Royals swing their bats, and the Kansas City Chiefs play pigskin.
