Vice President Engineering
We are looking for an engineering leader and manager with proven ability to build and manage a team of software engineers in a rapid application development environment.
Core responsibilities:
- Head the creation of a world-class consumer search software application
- Build and manage a team of software engineers in a rapid application development environment.
- Implement processes across the team for estimating, design and delivery of projects on schedule. Selection of development, testing, build, debugging, performance monitoring and other tools.
- Can be very hands on in first years of the startup, someone who can brainstorm innovative solutions and is comfortable adjusting plans as we go.
Qualifications:
- Ten years software development experience, three years experience managing at director level or above and has experience managing remote employees.
- Advanced degree in computer science or related field required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a business orientation. A strong leader who can motivate and develop a team into a highly productive force.
- Extensive experience with relational databases. Domain expertise in search and search engine optimization.
- Substantial real-world experience and prior involvement working on high-visibility software projects and managing multiple projects concurrently.
