Natural Language Processing Engineer

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Natural Language Processing engineer skilled in text analysis, natural language processing, and information retrieval. The engineer will work with a team to build the world's largest collection of travel products, cataloging both facts and feelings about products from online and offline sources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute to overall product development delivering features and data sets that will benefit travelers
• Develop tools and processes for extracting sentiment and opinion for unstructured text.
• Validate changes against baseline performance and quality tests, develop test sets using manual and semi-automated techniques

EXPERIENCE (required):

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence or related discipline
• 5+ years of research and development of system to process natural language with the objective of extracting the true meaning.
• Demonstrable extraction examples
• 5+ years of software development experience. Expert, hands-on development skills in Java
• Demonstrated ability to quickly research ideas, develop prototypes and take them to full production

EXPERIENCE (ideal):

• Experience with web search or other information-retrieval applications
• Ability to communicate with other AI/natural languages specialists as well as traditional web application development team
• Significant experience with structured data, SQL and data-intensive processing systems
• Statistical methods
• Machine learning
