The Vatican, awe-inspiring as it is with its beautifully landscaped gardens and grand architecture is the smallest state in the world, housed within the city of Rome. It is steeped in religious history and is home to The Pope and the Roman Catholic Church. St. Peter’s Basilica is said to have the largest interior of any Christian church in the world, with the ability to hold as many as 60,000 people. In Christian lore, the basilica is also said to be the tomb of the apostle Peter; the man known to be the first pope. Rome is a beautiful city, overflowing with culture and history. Sightseeing in Rome can be adventurous, but lengthy due to the lines to enter many of these places.
