OUR TAKE ON WATERLOO

Waterloo is located in the Northeastern, on the banks of the beautiful Cedar River. Tourism in Waterloo centers on the city’s history, which goes back to the mid 1800s, and its wealth of family friendly attractions.  The city is growing fast and its downtown is changing rapidly, so Waterloo vacations mean fun for everyone!

For family vacations in Waterloo, Iowa, kid friendly attractions abound. Your family might enjoy a trip to Lost Island Theme Park, a great water park designed to look just like a Polynesian village. Travel guides also give top ratings to the Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, where kids can play with butterflies as well as “dig up” dinosaur bones. In Waterloo, kid friendly hotels are easy to come by -  the Hampton Inn is a good place to start, as it has oversized rooms and a complimentary breakfast.

There are also plenty of possibilities for romantic getaways in Waterloo. If you enjoy being outdoors, Waterloo has many things to see and do in its parks, green spaces, golf courses and hiking trails. Or, visit the Waterloo Center for the Arts for an afternoon spent browsing beautiful art galleries. The museum is located directly on the Riverfront, and the views are wonderful.
