Our Take on Shipshewana, Indiana
It all began in the 1830’s for the this town where tribes of North American Indians known as Potawana Indians made camp and called this place home. They named the lake Shipshewana and the land surrounding it was rich with wildlife like beavers and rabbits and geese. It was a perfect place for fisherman and hunters. Come visit this genuine piece of American history and you’ll be able to experience a little piece of the past.
Shipshewana Indiana lodging can include the Super 8 where you’ll see the way the Amish live as you stay upon their land. Horse and buggy living is alive and well here and you’ll be able to take a tour of their farm to get a real taste of their culture. You may want to visit the flea market so check the schedule. The history is rich and today’s activities are many in Shipshewana, so don’t miss a thing.
