More great family lodging is right on the Pacific at Ocean Villas at Carlsbad.  We gathered around large granite fire pits for afternoon barbeques.  The Penthouse Suite is spacious (1700 feet of living space.)  We liked the cheerful elegance of the 2-bedroom San Suite, with its double deck patio, fully equipped kitchen, and private barbeque facilities.
