OUR TAKE ON PAIA
A favorite spot of singer Willie Nelson, Paia is a popular vacation spot in northern Maui, mostly known for their delicious Mexican food. It is also known as the the World Capital of Windsurfing, which draws millions of visitors every year. Paia is also a favorite amongst kids, who often spend their summer days in Baldwin Beach Park, a beautiful white sand beach surrounding downtown Paia. Paia also serves as a popular romantic spot during the fall, when it is more quiet and less humid.
For starters, your first stop should be Baldwin Beach Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Maui. Visit during the summer to view the kid friendly events, sometimes attracting famous guests. Windsurfing events are abound during the summer, so make sure your kids get a close view of the action. Kids can also swim in the ocean to cool off.
If you're leaving the kids at home, make sure to check out the restaurants in town. With cuisines ranging from Mexican to Indian, each restaurant has something romantic to offer, with food that is easily affordable. The trails surrounding Paia offer a taste of the romantic evening as well, something that should not be passed up.
