Pahoa Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON PAHOA

A short drive from busy Hilo, Pahoa is relatively unchanged, still maintaining its rustic roots.  If you want something more modern, you will not enjoy Pahoa's small town feel.  We also don't suggest taking kids here, big or small.  Pahoa is simply too small to be enjoyed by young ones.  Although it can't entertain the kids, Pahoa does entertain thousands of couples every year.  If you plan to visit Pahoa, here are three spots you must check out:

Kehana Beach.  The biggest nudist beach in eastern Hawaii, visitors flock here to get some sun or enjoy the waves -- sans clothes, of course.  There are restaurants nearby also for quick, delicious food without the hassle.

Historic downtown Pahoa.  Featuring historic lodging that beats everything else, people choose lodging in downtown Pahoa for its homey feel.  A nearby boardwalk is nearby for romantic strolls during the evening.  Most vacations are spent in the historic downtown district.

Lava Trees State Monument.  Frequently visited by couples during the summer, this vacation spot should not be passed up.  Along with romantic trails and a breathtaking site, there is nothing quite like visiting this remote spot in eastern Hawaii.
