OUR TAKE ON NAALEHU
Although its common moniker is "America's Southernmost Town", Naalehu is actually a vacationer's paradise, located in peaceful southern Hawaii. When it comes to peace and quiet, Naalehu is the best place to find it, with natural attractions and delicious restaurants available all around Naalehu. Although Naalehu will not interest younger kids, older kids will find Naalehu a true paradise miles away from busy Honolulu.
To begin your vacation on the right note, visit South Point, the southernmost destination in the United States. Take the entire family here and hike out to the point, taking in the beautiful Hawaiian waves just below your feet. Naalehu also holds an annual Hawaiian Hula Festival every September, which kids will find very entertaining. Kids can also hike in the nearby Kau Forest Reserve.
If you're heading to Naalehu without the kids, consider a visit to Honuapo Bay, a scenic spot just minutes away from Naalehu. There are many romantic packages available also, including romantic stops along the nearby highway and romantic lodging accommodations, such as modernesque hotels and traditional lodging, such as huts. To explore more of Naalehu for your next vacation, visit their website for more information about lodging, romantic options, kid friendly destinations, and much more.
