Maui Family Fun

Maui is a wonderful vacation spot for families. There is plenty to do and see, and the weather is perfect nearly every day of the year. The kids will wear themselves out during the day, and then will sleep soundly all night. You won't want to go home.

There is a lovely walking path along beautiful Ka'anapali Beach, which takes you to snorkeling at Black Rock, to lunch or dinner at Whalers' Village, or just for a nice morning stroll.
There are many luaus to choose from on Maui, but when you're on vacation, sometimes it is nice not to have to drive. The Drums of the Pacific is on site at the Hyatt Regency. When we went, our kids were all under 5, so they were all free! The food is good (oh, how I miss kalua pork!) and the fire dance is fun to watch.
This is one of my favorite places to take the family and visitors for dinner.

This is one of my favorite places to take the family and visitors for dinner. The first time we went here, our kids were little. The waitress brought them paper children's menus, markers, and plastic cups of water with lids and straws. Our kids were happy, and we were thrilled. They have live music and hula dancers most nights, and sand floors. You can't beat the atmosphere, and the food is great too. I love the crab wontons, and they have my favorite Caesar salad anywhere. There can be a wait so go early.
This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon with the kids, and a great option for rainy days. Enjoy the green sea turtles, jellyfish, the shark tunnel, and a variety of other local marine life. Fun and educational, and small enough to be manageable in an afternoon.
This is a fun and unique thing to do with your kids. We did this at least half a dozen times in the years we lived on Maui. What kid doesn't love a train ride? The cars are open air, the scenery is great, and the conductor gives you plenty of local history. There are several trips every day leaving Lahaina and Ka'anapali.

Ka'anapali Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. This is where the locals go to play tourist. It is a long sprawling beach, so even when it's crowded you can find a spot on the sand.
