OUR TAKE ON LAHAINA
The busiest city in West Maui, Hawaii, Lahaina is a popular vacation spot, boasting the best cuisine and atmosphere in Hawaii. Lahaina is especially busy during the summer, when visitors flock Lahaina's shores to get a great view of the Pacific. The gateway to the Kaanapali and Kapalua beach resorts just north of Lahaina, Lahaina is definitely a honeymooner's haven -- and a vacationer's heaven as well. Visit during the early spring when temperatures are mild and tourists are light.
For a great family vacation, we suggest visiting Kaanapali Beach, one of Hawaii's most famous beaches. Visited by millions each year, Kaanapali is a great place to swim and enjoy an afternoon brunch. The locals can point you in the way of other kid friendly spots also, including Banyan Tree Park.
For a romantic outing that is light on the pocketbook, head to the Old Lahaina Luau, the best luau in Hawaii. Featured in National Geographic Traveler, this luau fills up quick -- we suggest booking a reservation at least 3 months in advance. View traditional Hawaiian dancing under a romantic sunset, with 7pm being the best hour to enjoy food.
If you need a place to stay in Lahaina, you won't have any trouble finding it. Plenty of lodging is available in downtown Lahaina, overlooking the peaceful Pacific. For even more fun, book lodging near the ocean for quick access to the beach.
