Explore Kauai

Life on Kuaui is laid-back; it's a nice place to relax, but there is also an abundance of good restaurants, beautiful beaches, and stunning natural beauty. The island is small enough that you can get a good taste of it in a few days, but if you have the time, a visit to the Na Pali Coast will top off your adventure.

The Kauai Marriott is a nice place for families to stay. Located near the airport, it has the largest single-level pool in Hawaii, and is right on a beautiful beach. There are numerous restaurants on-site, including oceanfront dining at Kukui's and, my personal favorite, Duke's.
Duke's is a fun place for friends, couples or families. It has a warm atmosphere, a beautiful location, and great food at reasonable prices, especially by Hawaii standards. It is one of the TS restaurants, along with Hula Grill, one of my favorite restaurants on Maui. Be sure to try the Hula Pie for dessert!
There are nice views of the beach from the upstairs dining room.
Brennecke's Beach Broiler has a fun, casual atmosphere, which makes it a good place for families. There are nice views of the beach from the upstairs dining room. It is open-air dining, with great food.
Located on a beautiful golf course in Koloa, Joe's on the Green serves breakfast, lunch and cocktails. Joe's is known for its relaxing atmosphere, exceptional food, and friendly service. Check out the delicious club sandwich.

Just beyond Hanalei, is the Na Pali Coast. If you have time, this is a worthwhile area to visit. "Pali" is the Hawaiian word for cliff. There are no roads out here, so your visit will take a little planning. Basically, you have two options: you can see Na Pali by boat or by foot. The ancient Hawaiians used canoes to explore the Na Pali coastline; these days there is a choice of tour boat companies utilizing sailing catamarans and inflatable rafts. The other option is a rugged but scenic 11-mile foot path. You can day-hike a portion of the trail, or camp along the way and experience the whole thing.
Joe's is known for its relaxing atmosphere, exceptional food, and friendly service.
