OUR TAKE ON KAPAA

On the scenic island of Kauai, Kapa'a is known for two things -- the Sleeping Giant and its awful traffic congestion.  Although Kapa'a is a wonderful spot for a quick retreat, Kapa'a is Hawaii's busiest city (besides Honolulu).  Skip this place if you don't like the traffic.

For a vacation you'll remember for years, Kapa'a should be your first stop.  Surrounded by the Sleeping Giant, the locals' moniker for the Moumou Mountains, Kapa'a is full of memories and scenic coastline perfect for picturesque romantic walks along the beach or a great time with the kids.  Surrounded by abundant trails and super cheap lodging, Kapa'a should not be passed up.

For starters, take your kids to the Moumou Mountains, the biggest attraction in Kapa'a.  Surrounded by miles of trail and lush Hawaiian landscape, your kids can explore the foot of the mountain, walk the trails, and play in kid designated areas around the Sleeping Giant.  Take them to a local restaurant afterward for the best food in Kauai.

If you want to visit Kapa'a without the kids, consider a trek to the Mhihi Waialae Trail, just 6 miles away from Kapa'a.  With over 27 miles of romantic trails circling Kauai County, the view cannot be beat.  Pick lodging inside of town for a romantic end to your busy day, including the locally owned hotels in town.  To get more out of your vacation, mention you're on your honeymoon for romantic additions, such as a whirlpool and a complimentary bottle of champagne.  Want to learn more about Kapa'a?  Visit their website for more information about vacations, kid friendly outings, romantic destinations, lodging, and much more.
