Kailua Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON KAILUA

Just a short 15 minute drive from Honolulu, Kailua is a completely different experience from busy Honolulu, featuring the best beaches in Hawaii, friendly locals, food that beats anything else in Hawaii, and romantic outlets to rekindle that old flame.  Although not a popular vacation spot for kids -- it's designed for romantics in mind -- you won't need to find entertainment.  The entertainment in Kailua finds you.  Here are some places you should visit for a good time.

Kailua Beach.  Ranked as the number one U.S. beach in 1998, millions of visitors walk its smooth white sands as they enjoy local cuisine, swim it Kailua's crystal clear waters, and talk with the locals.  A popular place to windsurf during the summer, we suggest visiting during the spring instead when it is quieter and the evenings are more romantic.

Mount Olomana.  The biggest mountain in Kailua, take a scenic walk along Olomana's trails during the evening when the weather is cool and inviting.  Grab some food, set up a picnic near Mount Olomana, and enjoy yourself at Kailua's most romantic spot.

Downtown Kailua.  Looking for lodging?  Kailua has plenty of lodging in its historic downtown district, featuring Hawaiian decor that will inspire you to stay for more than a vacation.  Consider staying longer if you choose lodging here.
