OUR TAKE ON HANALEI

Located on the shores of Kauai, Hanalei is a small village that welcomes visitors every year with more than a smile -- Hanalei is known for many things, including lei making.  Better yet, the temperature rarely changes.  We suggest visiting Hanalei during off-season -- January to May -- for a relaxing, peaceful vacation on beautiful Kauai Island.  The view cannot be replaced.

If you want to take your kids here, which is something we highly recommend, take them to the ocean.  This is Hanalei's best attraction (no gimmicky attractions here).  Encourage your kids to surf on the Pacific while you sip some Tequila along Hanalei's white beaches.  There are restaurants in town also with delicious Polynesian cuisine, something your kids will eat up in a flash.

If you're leaving the kids at home, take your beau to the The Blue Room.  Just west of Hanalei, a short trail leads to a secret cavern illuminated with bright, natural blue light.  Romantics sneak out here during the afternoon when the room is the brightest.  If you have trouble finding this spot, ask the locals.

Besides the spectacular scenery and calm beaches, Hanalei is known for one other thing: lodging.  Although lodging here is sparse, the best part of your vacation will be the lodging.  Quality beats quantity in this case.  All accommodations here have a view of the beach, a romantic sight not to be missed.  Want more information about Hanalei?  Visit their website for more information about lodging, restaurants, kid friendly spots, and romantic options along Kauai's North Shore.
