There are a variety of tours in Munich which take visitors to all the important sites within the city as well as out to the beautiful surrounding area. For sightseeing in Munich, one can’t beat the Munich Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Tour . This city tour combines transportation with sightseeing in panoramic double decker buses with mult-lingual audio commentary. A ticket provides unlimited transportation for a 24 hour period and visits such sites as Residenz der Wittelsbacher, Königsplatz, and Nymphenburg Castle. No visit to Munich would be complete without a tour of some of the nearby castles. The Neuschwastein and Linderhof Day Trip from Munich visit two of King Ludwig II’s royal castles. Neuschwanstein, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe was built in 1869 and was constructed with revolutionary technology such as flushing toilets and an air warming system. Linderhof is the smallest of the King’s three castles and was built as a hunting lodge. Fascinating and unique, it features a two by two and a half meter bed and a dining room table that sinks into the floor to the kitchen.
