One Day in Duluth

Duluth is a four season city and one of Minnesota's finest. A perfect blend of big city culture and a smaller Northwoods escape, the city offers much to do during all four seasons. During winter, hit the ski slopes at Spirit Mountain. In fall, drive along Skyline Parkway for clifftop views of Lake Superior and the lush red leaves. In summer, barbecue on Park Point beach. In spring, hike near Seven Bridges Road and enjoy the fresh gushing streams.

If you visit Duluth, you have to take the 20 mile drive up highway 61 to Two Harbors. The stretching highway follows the lake shore with beautiful views and scenic photo spots. Yonkers, JCPennys and Sears are the staple department stores, and there is a large Barnes & Nobel and DSW, as well as a food court and many other shops. It's the biggest mall in northern Minnesota and worth a stop if you're looking for hassle free shopping.

Old Chicago has the best pizza in Canal Park. Try their Hawaiian pizza with a spicy marinara sauce, pineapple and canadian bacon. The large central room has a bar area and lines of booths and long tables so this restaurant is ideal for large parties and weekend pizza and beer specials.  More
