One Day in Paris

Youll never see all of Paris in a single day, but you can see many of the major sights in relatively short time. A quick visit to the city will not only give you a great introduction to Paris (and Parisians) but a small taste of what France has to offer.

You dont want to waste time in the city sitting in a taxi or stuck on the metro so a central location will help you get the most out of your stay. Concorde Hotels have 6 hotels in Paris, all close to major attractions. Their residence opposite the Louvre offers comfortable rooms from around 250 per night.

One of the best impressionist museum and galleries in the world, the Orsay offers thousands of famous works by a multitude of artists, including Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Renoir and Toulose Lautrek- to name just a few. The museum and its exhibitions are not only easy to navigate but a manageable size so you could see the majority of major works without spending an entire day (or more).

You cant miss a visit to this French icon (from below at the very least). The best time is at night when the tower is illuminated and for a few minutes every hour (on the hour) the towers 20,000 lights flicker on and off in a dazzling display which can be seen from around the city. Dont head up the tower however, as youll spend most of your day standing in line.

People have been coming to Paris to visit Notre Dame Cathedral for over 800 years. This is a masterpiece of gothic architecture and inspiration for dozens of books and films. Ile de la Cite -the island on which the cathedral is built- is a pleasant area to explore and the public park just behind Notre Dame is a nice place to watch the world go by if youre looking for a break if your sightseeing.
With boats leaving every 10-20 minutes you wont waste any time and could even consider combining a cruise with either dinner or lunch.
While the tower is not the most beautiful building to see in the city, it boasts a fantastic viewing platform on the 56th Floor.
