Do it Like a Local - A Weekend Guide to Panama City Beach

Hand-18a

Panama City Beach is a place where you can get a lot done in just 2-1/2 days, including a day at the beach. I used to spend many weekends at the PC Beach as a kid, and it's still somewhere I love bringing my kids to as an adult. The breath-taking Town of Seaside is a very short drive away from PCB and my favorite place to be in the world.

When I take a weekend trip to the beach, I wan to stay ON the beach. Not near. Not down the street. Walk-out-the-door-onto-the-sand ON the beach. The ResortQuest Sunrise is on the beach with only their pool separating you from the Gulf waters.

Bud & Alley's is a must-visit for every local and visitor to Seaside. A short 30-minute drive from PCB, this restaurant sits right on the beach with 2nd floor views of the Gulf. Make sure to get my favorite, the Sweet Potato Logs. You WILL thank me.

As a kid, this was my FAVORITE summer-time place to go. I remember going several times a season, and riding every ride at the park. Take advantage of the relaxing wave pool and exciting super slide, and you've seen it all!
This favorite for locals is close by to the beach and all attractions. It's super easy to visit for a few hours on a nice afternoon. The kids can learn about the animals, and if you're a photographer like me, you can snap some good shots of cute monkeys.
Home of the 5-pound burrito, Los Antojitos is famous for their margaritas and beloved by locals. Not many restaurants in the tourist corridor are frequented by locals, but Los Antojitos is a gem in a sea of cookie-cutter chain restaurants.

Locals love this hidden gem with its boat ramps, pier, and natural surroundings. Bring along a camera to capture your kids playing in the sand and collecting shells. Do yourself a big favor and take a Shell Island boat tour - it's one of those places locals like to keep for themselves. More
