Naples, Florida, is often thought of as an expensive place to visit, and it can be. But you can still have a great time in this lovely city without forking out a lot of money.

Inn On Fifth Avenue

Housed in an old bank building, this elegant boutique hotel is located amidst the upscale shops and bistros of 5th Ave. The rooftop pool and Irish pub downstairs are wonderful, as are the free WiFi and parking.

Yabba Island Grill

The Caribbean-inspired menu and fun atmosphere have made this restaurant popular with locals and visitors alike. Seafood and the Barbados Style Ribs are what to order here. Don't forget the lovely drink menu, too.

This is an all-day attraction, since admission covers all the shows and exhibits, a guided botanical tour and a primate expedition cruise (watch out for those monkeys - one almost landed on our boat!).

Naples Pier

The best place in the city to catch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. It's also a great place to fish, and you don't need a license since the city has a blanket license for the pier itself.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Managed by the National Audubon Society, this wilderness area covers four eco-habitats native to Southern Florida. Informative and fun!
