Destin Weekend on a Budget

It can be really easy to spend your weekend in Destin, Florida spending your entire life's savings, but it's also really easy to spend a weekend adhering to a budget. Inexpensive hotels, nice restaurants, and budget-friendly activities are aplenty on the beaches of Northwest Florida. For my family, every trip we take is on a budget, so this is something I know all about.

The key word here: beach. On the beach with beach access at Holiday Inn prices makes for a budget-friendly weekend vacation. With all of the amenities you expect from Holiday Inn coupled with the low-price of the 3-star rating, this hotel works into a budget at around $100 per night.

Dewey Destin Seafood Restaurant and Market
Overlooking Crab Island and full of affordable FRESH fish, Dewey's is a great place to bring the kids for a budget conscious weekend. The fun decor flashes you back to the old-time fishing village that Destin once was.

Henderson Beach State Recreation Area
Free works well on a budget weekend. Henderson Beach State Park is a gem, hidden behind a snake of one-way roads into the beach where you can relax away from the highrises and in the middle of nature right on the Gulf.

Air Force Armament Museum
For the plane or military enthusiast in your group, the Air Force Armament Museum that's just 30 minutes from Destin is a great FREE place to visit for an afternoon. Check out the fastest plane in the free world as well as the biggest bombs ever built!

Dockside Water Sports and Boat Rental
Saving your pennies has afforded you the opportunity to get wet on the Gulf and in the bay on a Jetski. Take a dolphin-watching excursion with a waterproof camera, and see the best of Destin.
