OUR TAKE ON NEWARK

Founded in 1694, the beauty and historical charm of Newark, DE makes it a fun, family-friendly vacation destination.  This quaint city is home to the University of Delaware and offers a variety of inexpensive places to eat and drink.

Make a stop at Deer Park Tavern, where they’ve been serving alcohol to the area since the early 1800’s and local legend has it that author; Edgar Allan Poe laid a curse on the entire town after tripping on his way out of the tavern.   But if you’re in the mood for an ice cold microbrew, then the Iron Hill Brewery is the place for you, where the beer is brewed in house.  If shopping is your passion you’ll be easily satisfied with the shops in the Christian Mall.

If culture is what you seek, we recommend the Winterthur Museum, located just 15 miles from Newark, with a variety of upcoming events for every budget.  The museum boasts a fairy-tale garden for kids called the Enchanted Woods.  If inexpensive relaxation sounds like the vacation of your dreams, then a Newark, DE vacation just may be the perfect place for you and your family.  There’s a wide variety of accommodations for you to choose from and exciting local attractions for you to see in Newark, DE.
