OUR TAKE ON NORWICH
Norwich is a kid-friendly community located on the southeastern side of Connecticut. It sits beside the harbor where three rivers converged. These rivers are the Thames, the Shetucket, and the Yantic. It might be easy to assume that the majority of the tourist attractions that will be appealing to kids are related to water. But this is not the case. Kids will also love adventures that are not related to water, such as learning hockey in Norwich Ice Rink and bumper bowling at Norwich Ten Pin. Those who are taking Norwich vacations without kids may check out two museums in the area or observe any of Norwich’s exciting festivals. The museums are the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum and the Slater Museum. There is also the Rose Garden, the Mohegan Park, and the Putts Up Dock. The Mohegan Park has a Spaulding Pond as well as a small public beach. The Putss Up Dock is a mini golf course. A couple of interesting festivals are the Winterfest Parade and the Juneteenth day. But if the Norwich vacations include kids, then the family should be ready for an outdoor adventure. The adventure may begin with the Fish Elevator which is found near the Thames River. The adventure continues along the Indian Leap and Heritage Walkway. And then the whole family can proceed to the Skate Board Park to have a picnic or to skate.
