Welcome to Uptake! We created this site out of our love for all things travel, so, we are really excited that you are here. Since you have chosen to be part of our community, we are assuming that you are smarter, more interesting and far more charming than the average bear. But, wed like to use this page to talk about some of the other qualities we expect of our members (as well as ones that wont be tolerated).

We may update these guidelines so definitely come back from time to time to see changes as well as policies around new community features.

Please do:

• Have fun! After all, travel is fun. It is one of lifes great pleasures and we want you to revel in it here.
  • Show your passion. Share photos, experiences and tips and answer questions. Express your love of travel while helping others at the same time.
  • Be inspired. Ask questions, browse around our vast collection of travel content and start planning that next trip.
  • Be Social. Meet fellow travelers and connect with your network of friends.
    
• Play well with others. Uptakes travel community is a large and diverse pool of folks. You will see opinions that stray wildly from your own and that you may even find offensive. Be tolerant, respectful and polite. We are confident that you have good manners. So, please use them when visiting.
  
• Keep it clean. We dont want to spend our days eliminating inappropriate comments and tracking down half-nude photos (this includes your profile photo). And the rest of the community probably doesnt want to see them, either.
  
• Contribute quality content. We love all contributions, but definitely prefer quality over quantity. Please write thoughtful questions, answers and reviews. This includes, making sure that your questions are real and pertaining to travel and that your answers address the question at hand.
  
• Always double-check and use common sense. Make sure you check that the great caf you heard about is really pet friendly or that the fabulous budget hotel someone recommended is actually open. We cant verify every bit of information that someone writes. Nor can we validate every opinion. It is up to you to use good judgment and a healthy caution around the advice and tips you get in this community.
  

Please dont:

• No harassment, trolling or stalking. If you need to ask whether a certain behavior qualifies as any of the above then just assume the answer is yes.
  
• Dont publish content that is not your own or that is untrue. This means, that beautiful photo of the Swiss Alps at sunrise needs to be yours and all contributed answers and reviews should be written by you. Please dont say you have been to places you havent or write things you know are not true. Also, it is not very neighborly to take the great content written here and publish it elsewhere, as if it were your own. Dont do this.
  
• Dont spam or use us as an advertising platform. We dont mind if you include links to your travel blog or website on your profile page. But, commercial solicitation, direct advertising or contributions solely crafted to promote traffic to another site are not okay. In keeping with this, you should disclose all conflicts of interest.
